According to the Regional Development Act, the Regional Development and Funding Department at the Council of Oulu Region is responsible for the general development of the region in co-operation with the actors in the region, implements the European union’s strategies and the regional program and its implementation plan. The Department is responsible for the preparation and updating of the implementation plan and, as an intermediate authority, for the implementation and regional decision-making of the Sustainable Growth and Jobs 2014–2020 Structural Funds.
