International cooperation is getting a greater role in the Council of Oulu region. The region-wide development programs have highlighted a number of actions, that have an international dimension or that have a need for it.
From the globalization point of view, it is important to raise the level of expertise of the region’s actors, in addition to the promotion of international activities and exchange of experience. The international activities of the Council of Oulu region are focused on promoting cooperation of entire Northern Finland, utilizing interregional networks, Interreg and other EU development programmes, as well as our joint office in Brussels.
