Arctic Europe
The Arctic Europe network unites the cities and regions within the Northern regions of Finland, Norway and Sweden. They all are in a peripheral position and potentially competing with each other while they form a strong Arctic combination of possibilities and strengths, ranging from high tech expertize to fisheries, from mining to tourism, from cities to indigenous cultures, from shipping to Arctic design.
The Arctic Europe cooperation can add value for the already existing, inter-regional practical cooperation by scaling-up and finding more extensive synergy partnerships and strategic alliances with participants from all three countries for activities focused outside the region.
The Arctic Europe network will focus on the following key themes:
- Region´s growth, competiveness and attractiveness
- Internal and external connectivity and logistic
- Smart Arctic
- Communication, marketing and international outreach
The Arctic Europe cooperation is supported by Mayors and Region Mayors, who commit to meet regularly.
